This is the official web site of the St. Dimitrija Macedonian Orthodox Church of South Florida. The church is open every Sunday and every religious holiday at 10:00 A.M. Every Sunday lunch that is served is prepared by the Women's Auxiliary. This includes traditional Macedonian cuisine. The cost of the lunch is $5. The hall, with a capacity of 120 people, can be rented for private parties, birthdays and other events. Parties organized for every religious and other holidays, are entertained by the group “Balkan Band”. In certain special occasions, famous artists from Macedonia are invited to perform. Anyone who is a member of the Macedonian Orthodox Church has a discount for themselves and their family when hosting a baptism, marriage, and various other parties. Everyone is welcome to the church and to attend parties in the hall.

HISTORY ABOUT THE CHURCH "ST.DIMITRIJA"

The first Macedonian Club of Florida was established on January 14, 1989 for Vassilitza. The party was held at the Yugoslav Club of America located at 21050 W. Dixie HGHWY North Miami, Florida 33180. After socializing for a year, the Macedonian people thought to establish a Macedonian Orthodox Church. On August 15, 1989 the first Macedonian Orthodox Church in South Florida, "St.Dimitrija" was established and was registered in Tallahassee.In the beginning, religious and other celebrations were held in rented halls and clubs, where each religious holiday services were done by Macedonian priest.Traditionally every year, Macedonian people who live in Canada and all over America gather in Florida. With the hosting of a picnic, grilled food is served and Macedonian songs and dances are performed.In November 2004, for the first time, all Macedonian families who live in Florida gathered in their church which is located on 4980 Northlake Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens Florida 33418.The goal of our church as a religious institution is to organize religious, social and humanitarian events for Macedonian people, as well as all others interested in the Macedonian culture. The doors of this church are always open for all brothers and sisters, who would like to experience the beauty of the Orthodox faith.
